Following this theme, a courtyard was included on the western side, connecting the interior private spaces to the sky. A sky-lighted dome sits atop the bedroom, and tile and woodwork support the interior design and framework. The entrance to the home opens beneath a series of steps leading up to the rooftop terrace, which can be covered partly or left open to the sky. In this way, it offers a space for the baharkhab, for warm weather outdoor sleeping, typical of traditional Iranian architecture. From this vantage, the northern view of the mountains can be seen, and overall the home is configured to complement the surrounding views.
